Cancellation Policy

A commitment to therapy is essential for meeting counseling goals. Also, life happens, and appointments may need to be cancelled. To ensure a beneficial experience, I kindly ask that you familiarize yourself with my cancellation policy.

You are welcome to discuss any questions or concerns you have about any policy prior to signing the Practice Policies agreement at intake. Clients are also encouraged to communicate any changing circumstances or concerns that arise throughout the course of therapy that could impact care.

Cancellation Policy

Clients will be charged the full session fee for any appointment that is cancelled or missed for any reason. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. The cancellation fee includes any amount normally covered by insurance, in addition to the copay amount. This is an out-of-pocket fee and cannot be charged to an HSA/HRS/FSA account. The cancellation fee may be waived for clients who reschedule a session within the week of the original session date. Upon client request, the therapist will make every possible effort to reschedule, but makes no guarantee of available openings.

Typically clients are able to reschedule cancelled sessions the week before, the week of, or the week after the original session date, without incurring a cancellation fee. A regularly held spot does not stand in for, or get displaced by, a rescheduled session.
